Welcome to Friends of Austin City Limits

KLRU is currently taping its 38th season of Austin City Limits, America’s longest running live music performance program on television, in its new home at The Moody Theater in downtown Austin. The Moody Theater is Austin’s newest state-of-the-art venue, furthering Austin as the live music capital.

Each season runs from around March to October and features 18-20 live performances before an intimate crowd. The taping schedule is not set in advance of the season. Instead, the tapings are scheduled throughout the year as we try to accommodate the artists’ touring schedules.KLRU provides access to these live performances through the Friends of Austin City Limits program as a thank you for their membership donation to KLRU. Your membership also supports KLRU and public television in Central Texas.

Currently, the Friends of ACL program has reached capacity and KLRU is not able to accept new members for the Friends of ACL group. If you would like more information about the program or if you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please contact Amanda Hutchins at ahutchins@klru.org.

In the meantime, consider supporting all that KLRU does in Central Texas by joining Producer's Circle today.

Highlights of the Austin City Limits Stage at The Moody Theater

The Austin City Limits Stage at the Moody Theater is part of a mixed-use, 31-story tower that includes the luxurious W Austin hotel, office space, condominiums, restaurants and retail in the growing 2nd Street district of downtown Austin.

The acoustically flexible space is the new home to KLRU-TV’s production, Austin City Limits, with three levels, a 2,700-seated person capacity and a gallery area showcasing the history of Austin City Limits. The Moody Theater is a state-of-the-art venue with a digital HD broadcast production studio that has taken Austin City Limits to the next stage.

Outside of the nights that KLRU will tape Austin City Limits, the PBS television series, the venue will host ACL-Live at The Moody Theater, consisting of 60-100 concerts a year, as well as private events. Though this concert series is not a production of KLRU, nor will it be recorded for broadcast on PBS, we encourage you to take part in and experience great music in Austin’s newest and most acoustically sophisticated venue. You can check out the calendar of great music coming to Austin and purchase tickets at www.ACL-Live.com.
