Jason Kander is a former Army captain, Missouri’s 39th Secretary of State and the president of Let America Vote. In 2016, Kander ran for the U.S. Senate in Missouri. At over $75 million, his Senate race was the most expensive in state history. His organization, Let America Vote, fights against voter suppression laws that impact people based on their race, gender, age and ethnicity.
This Overheard taping is co-presented with The Texas Tribune Festival, running September 22-24 on The University of Texas at Austin campus. The event brings together 250 of the biggest names in politics and media to explore the state's — and nation's — most pressing issues. Program and tickets at texastribune.org/festival.
