Franken

Al Franken is a U.S. Senator from Minnesota. Before running for the Senate, he spent 37 years as a comedy writer, author and radio talk show host. Best known for his stint on Saturday Night Live during the 1970s and 80s, Sen. Franken was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2008, and re-elected in 2014. His latest book, Al Franken, Giant of the Senate, was a New York Times Best Seller.

This Overheard taping is co-presented with The Texas Tribune Festival, running September 22-24 on The University of Texas at Austin campus.
