Few authors would welcome the word “nonsense” in a review.  But fans of Frazier use that term often to describe his work, always as a form of very high praise.  The Believer called him “a master of both distilled insight and utter nonsense,” and an article in The New York Times praised one book’s “moments of dazzling nonsense and pure joy.”  It’s a reputation earned through a varied mix of humorous essays, meticulously reported books of non-fiction and wide-ranging magazine articles, tackling subjects as diverse as the history of the Great Plains, a humorous look at the life of Don Johnson and a trip through Siberia.

Overheard with Evan Smith updates the successful formula of our award-winning series Texas Monthly Talks:  great conversation with fascinating people.  The new show will bring you the same mix of guests from politics, the arts, literature, journalism, business, sports and more, and will be offered to PBS stations nationwide.  We hope you’ll be there as we launch this exciting new program.
